Goals

Problem statement:

Chiatura is a small town, which is distinguished with geographic location, with local historical and cultural monuments. It is known as “the town of black gold”.
Chiatura has the prospect of attracting as many people as possible, but instead, some Chiatura residents, particularly the youth, that the future of Chiatura depends on, are drawn towards bigger, better developed cities. This is caused by the fact that Chiatura is not economically developed, has no clean environment and the appropriate infrastructure. Places of youth gathering do not look good. The town lacks innovation and art.
With time, the main park of the town, which lies parallel to the central street, has lost its appearance. The buildings in its vicinity make the park look ugly. The walls of the apartment block overlooking the square are full of obscene inscriptions. The main problem is that small children walk in the park, and their psyche is greatly influenced by such inscriptions.

How will your initiative achieve/contribute to this change?

In order to solve the above-mentioned problem, I have decided to improve one of the places of youth gathering. This place is known as “the Park of Victory '', where the walls of the apartment blocks are full of senseless, ugly graffiti. Our idea is to cover the first floor of these apartment blocks on the side of the square with works created in the style of street art. The walls will depict the characters of Georgian as well as foreign cartoons. The works will be created by volunteer artists. Also, I think it will be good to make various motivational inscriptions or expressions related to nature. This way a beautiful and aesthetic environment will be created where everyone will happily spend their free time. The pictures of cartoon characters will attract the children walking in the park and will positively affect their psyche. Also, this is a way to raise the public awareness and restore the provided information in visual form. In case of winning, after completing the initiative (painting), Chiatura Pupils Council will take the responsibility for its maintenance, and will also hold informational meetings in public schools in order to raise awareness and prevent vandalism.

The purchased items: paints, brushes, to use them fully for the initiative.

How will initiative provide equal opportunity for men and women?

After the completion of the initiative, representatives of both sexes will be able to equally benefit from the created pleasant environment.
