Goals

Problem statement:

People who hear about plastic, about environmental pollution, clearly realize that the environment, eco system, flora and fauna, marine life are harmed by human hands… the world is facing a great challenge in this regard. Everyone agrees that taking it to the garbage bin is not a problem, but for some reason everyone is reluctant to gather and dispose of, and the nature itself takes it to the seas and oceans by means of rivers, and the Kvirila is the only natural sanitation, moreover, from tributaries and stream it collects plastic bottles and the like, thrown away in the gorges; in Chiatura on Tkhelidze street there is a dam on the river Kvirila, where in a big pool plenty of gathered accumulated plastic is clearly seen, awaiting for someone to think of taking out so much plastic in one place by means of a special equipment, at least with a net. But it seems like somebody it is else’s job to do it; that is why I told several young people about this idea, they expressed readiness and eagerness, and we easily turned the idea of cleaning the Kvirila into a project, and your project will help us in that and we hope that the town as well as the Kvirila pool will be relieved. If it was one-time, it would be more or less OK, but there is the same picture after every rain – give us the opportunity to take care of the eco system of Chiatura with the help of your project, in a practical way and not only with posters…

How will your initiative achieve/contribute to this change?

We introduced the project to several workers of rescue service, their involvement is necessary, with their help we will stretch a rope on the river, it is possible to do that on the dam breakwaters. Naturally we will agree with the local city hall on this project, mobile net will be attached to the ropes, and by means of a smaller rope, a net and a winch, plastic and other types of garbage will be taken out to the coast and put on the appropriate truck, which is the job of the cleaning service and they are ready to help us in the project… The idea is definitely creative, many people may have wished to do that before, but it hasn’t been implemented so far, and by means of your project a lot of initiatives may be implemented…

What will happen to your initiative and to the purchases?

The items will be installed on the territory of the dam and a group of young people and the above-mentioned offices will be in charge of them…

How will initiative provide equal opportunity for men and women?

Naturally, involvement regardless of gender is allowed for those interested.
