Goals

Problem statement:

Chiatura is an industrial town and this fact is reflected in its appearance. You can come across many interesting places in this town. Cable cars, called cultural heritage sites, ancient churches and monasteries, ruined (but attractive for tourists), abandoned and for some, mystical buildings, etc. Also, there are many caves. In short, Chiatura is a town with a big touristic potential, for which tourism has to become an alternative to manganese extraction and working in the mine. The town is beautiful and it has many sights, but it lacks bright colors and novelties.
I think that “Love Bridge” will be a novelty for the population. It will create aesthetic environment in the town. It will be able to make daily life more beautiful and colorful for Chiatura population. This bridge, which every person who leaves home, will have to cross, is situated in the town center. The design of this bridge is different from the rest. It will not be an ordinary bridge and hence will attract the attention of tourists in Chiatura.

How will your initiative achieve/contribute to this change?

The description of the idea: *The bridge surface will be painted; *The stairs leading up to the bridge will be painted and symbolic inscriptions will be made on it: *Flower pots will be placed on the railings of the bridge; on one side of the bridge there is a wedding house and trade centers and on the other side there is a cable car (its construction is nearing completion), and also a church. After civil registration of marriage couples go to the other side of the bridge and get married in the church, if they wish so. *There will be a board by the bridge, the name of the bridge will be indicated on it, and also – check in Chiatura. *Also, the bridge has to be lit with “ceremonial” bulbs (to be provided by Chiatura municipality city hall).

What will happen to your initiative and to the purchases?

Chiatura municipality and Chiatura Pupils’ Council will take the responsibility for the maintenance of this bridge.

How will initiative provide equal opportunity for men and women?

The implementation of this initiative will equally apply to everyone regardless their gender, age, social or other status. It will create an aesthetic environment in the town and will be equally enjoyed by everyone. It will be an interesting and attractive novelty for everyone. It will bring more color and life into our gray town.
