Goals

Problem statement:

95% of Javakhetis population is Armenians. Integration processes in the region is very slow, although it goes productively. integration is slow because there are not enough cultural events for people to meet. Therefore, this cultural initiative will contribute to meeting getting to know of each other (Georgians and Armenians) through art.
This is important, because the show yourself and share your culture to others is like to build a bridge of friendship and understanding that it is necessary to national minorities and the majority of Georgia. Art is the best way to convey emotions, thoughts, and relationships to each other, without further actions. We also want to change people's attitude towards the words: volunteer, civic engagement, so the passive Armenians and Georgian citizens of Javakheti will begin to talk about themselves, and realize how important it is to have their opinion and contribute to a better life.

Proposed Solution:

This initiative will involve young people, the future of Javakheti, which will show the older generation, and not only, that they can change not only their friends, their street, their city, their region and the country, but the entire world. The initiative involves several activities including in villages. Initiative includes several components.

The first demonstrational activity will be organized in Akhalkalaki and will be an exhibition of pictures, the photo competition will be announced in advance.
The theme of the contest is "Friendship of Nations - Integration"
After the photo exhibition there will be a film screening about minorities living in Javakheti. In order to show, that there are not only Armenians in the region, but also many other ethnic and religious minorities.
There Will be shown the movie "Iceland", The film tells about the life of spiritual leader of the village of Ninotsminda municipality Gorelovka, also short film "Minority in menshintsve" about Greek Javakheti and "Mixed marriages" about the Armenian Georgian family. Also at the event will host Armenian and Georgian dance groups and dancers as well as musicians who will sing Armenian and Georgian songs (the contribution of volunteers)
Similar events will take place in several villages in Javakheti Ninotsminda.

Sustainability:

After the event, equipment or other materials, which will remain under the control of our non-governmental organization "Open borders", will be provided to young people and to everyone who wants to make some kind of social, civic activity. contacts between Georgians and Armenians will be created, which will lead to integration. In addition, the organization of such an event in the villages will give a positive result for integration.
