We believe in the power of books, non-formal education and experiential learning and the idea that youth need a physical space to be active and creative.We see this new centre as multi-functional space in the service of young people, as a epi-center for learning,community building,self development,civic education and creativity.Besides the library,which will be one of the purpose of the building,we would also like to include creative room dedicated to different art related workshops, painting, music, theatre, origami, photography and computer room to learn, develop digital skills. How it will all work: Management:The multi functional space will be youth led organisation,which will have a board, consisted by local young people and administrated by local informal group of women Lamaria. Program:workshops,training events,intercultural exchange with international volunteers, language classes,board games,IT lessons, movie evenings,debates,to engage local people and create a positive image of the youth centre and lead to positive social impact for everyone. Resources:We have space, which is renovated cosmetically, we have already made a crowdfunding campaign,which allowed us to change the windows.Volunteers from the village helped to clean up the place and decorate. Regarding the key peer educators we have English teacher,(peace corps volunteer)in the village.who is willing to organise diverse activities in the centre using interactive language learning methods.Supporters:we have a memorandum with youth association DRONI, they are willing to send EVS volunteers from European countries to conduct the activities in the youth centre.We also have a support from municipality, who has been involved in this process from the very beginning.We also have a support from Dutch students from pedagogical faculty, who are willing to come and conduct two month training/activities,about civic education and social change.

Now that the rooms have been partly restored, our aim is to equip the library and creative space with the necessary materials and resources that will allow it to be available for the local youth. As soon as we have the purchases we will continue equipping the rooms with all the necessary materials. That will give us opportunity to start implementing our ideas: creating youth council that will lead the activities in the library; inviting EVS volunteers; English-language lessons; self-development trainings and other non-formal education activities. The youth council that will be in charge of creating the structured action plan and the calendar of activities will be a guarantee that the idea will be sustainable. The library will provide opportunities for active youth in the village to realise their ideas and learn by doing. Because there is a big group of interested people involved in the process of creating the space NGO, Municipality, International partners we are sure that the project will be successful and it will create a long-lasting impact on the community. We do believe that the space will be a fundament for establishing youth culture in the village and it will bring voluntary spirit in the Udabno community.

Our centre equally welcomes men and women of the village. The space being for the youth generally, it is vital that everyone uses it for their interests. Since the centre will be led by the youth council, we founders of the library will make sure that there is a gender balance in the board. We think that men and women can both successfully use the opportunities the centre provides for them.
