Goals

Problem statement:

The Charity Fund “My House” is a home for 10 children aged 8 to 17 who do not have regular contact with their parents. Because of this, reforming stable relationships amongst the residents and their parents, if possible, is very important.

Our project aims to strengthen the social relationships between our residents with the goal of psychological rehabilitation and social integration. We also want to help the older children identity and develop their skills, identities, imaginations, and goals.

To make these bonds, the children and their parents need to participate in joint activities. Everyone will participate: children, private tutors, and parents. The project we will take will be artistic, working with clay, sculpture, and painting. We will call this project the Earthenware Circle. This project is important because of its positive sides:

1. It connects parents and children lacking parental care, which further contributes to the reintegration of the child into the family.

2. During the process of making earthenware, private tutors teach the parents the ways of correct relationship with the child.

3. This activity has a therapeutic nature and is useful for children’s emotional stability.

4. In case of carrying out the project, the organization will have the possibility to offer an additional activity to its beneficiaries and give them non-formal education.

5. The raised funds will help us to make the activities a constant activity and turn it into a social enterprise after a certain time.

6. In case the project proves to be successful, part of the funds raised from the sold items will be given to the children’s parents with the purpose of giving incentives to participate.

Proposed Solution:

The earthenware circle will be divided according to week days. After one month has passed since the start of the project, the gained experience will be evaluated, and the needs to be fulfilled during the next stage will be outlined.

The children, mothers and tutors will discuss the project at the end, and the children will present their works and evaluate their abilities and the experience together.

The project's schedule is as followed:

1. Joint meeting will be called, where the meaning and goals of the project will be discussed.

2. Earthenware classes will be planned together with the volunteer earthenware teachers of the
organization.

3. Work material will be purchased: sculpting clay, brushes, paints.

4. Work on the items will start.

5. As soon they are ready, the earthenware will be placed on the Facebook page of the organization.

6. An exhibition and sale of the items will be held.

Sustainability:

The sustainability of the project is ensured by the following factors:

1. The raised funds will be again used to acquire material so the fulfillment of this project which will ensure it continues.
2. The project will enable the parents with no education to display their professional skills and master the specificity of working with clay.
3. It must be noted that earthenware products have market demand, as reflected in the exhibition and sale carried out by us earlier.

Considering the indicators listed above, we think that the project will be successful and sustainable.

Equal gender opportunity:

The beneficiaries taking part in the project are the foster-children of the small family-type house of N(N)LE Charity Fund “My House” - from socially vulnerable families and also six of the children’s mothers. There are ten children, a mix of boys and girls.
