There are 31 public schools in Tsalka district: 19 Georgian, 10 Armenian, and 2 Azerbaijani. Every year, the Georgian graduation rate is much higher - 60 percent to 5 and 10 percent. One of the reasons for this gap is that the non-Georgian speakers cannot access university and other public services. Without Georgian, they also cannot access many good careers.
In addition, many young adults are actively involved in agriculture, making them miss school and training programs. They leave school early to farm or marry young. As adults, they are less informed about such important topics as children's rights, early marriage disadvantages, career planning, etc.
There are no youth clubs in the village and no adults engaged in sports and other creative activities, so they spend their free time to bad habits, such as cigarettes, alcohol and gambling.
We want to implement our educational workshops on Sundays, because this day is the most convenient for students.
I Sunday: Training: Early Marriage
II Sunday: Olympic Football
III Sunday: Book review: Ali and Nino
IV Sunday: Training: Career Planning
V Sunday: Presentation: Origins of Georgian and Armenian Alphabet
VI Sunday: Training on Gender Equality
VII Sunday: Book Club
VIII Sunday: Minister of Culture and Monument Protection: "Inviting Living Books"
IX Sunday : Trivia Game
X Sunday: Olympic Football
We want the library to attract youth into reading books. We also need sports equipment for sports activities. Our project will continue throughout the year and we will try to discuss and resolve communal issues together.
The result of the project will be the bonding and integration of Georgian and non-Georgian children, so that there will be more non-Georgian school graduates and more of them will be able to use employment opportunities in public services.
Young people will be engaged in sports and other creative activities and not harmful habits.
After project completion, the newly purchased items will be transferred to the training center "Gumbati," which is also aimed at integration.
Equal gender opportunity:
We will be actively involving Georgian as well as non Georgians in the project, regardless of age or sex.
