Goals

Problem statement:

I am Elene Baindurashvili, one of the members of the group “Natvris Khe” who ran the project “Our Feminist Club.” Through this club, I got to know Azerbaijani girls and since then we regularly keep in touch. Despite the difference in nationalities and traditions, we found something in common with each other. Our common wish is to make as many Georgian and Azerbaijani pupils friends with each other as possible.

Additionally, we believe that all our students pupils aren’t sufficiently well-informed on the ecological diversity of the region. To help this, my Azeri friends and I want to plan joint events.

We think that internet friendship will allow us to get to know and make friends with them from distance and simultaneously carry out all the activities planned together. Along with integration, we should raise awareness on ecology in the pupils of Lagodekhi public school # 1 and Kabali public school #1.

Proposed Solution:

In order to carry out the idea, we will create eco clubs in schools. We will acquire two laptops, through which daily communication will take place between the clubs.

Our two clubs will jointly plan ecological activities: introduction to Lagodekhi eco-system, an excursion to the museum of Lagodekhi preserved territories, holding a competition in schools on the topic of eco-tolerance (creating paintings).

Through a photo competition, we will create an eco-tolerant wall calendar for 2017 in Georgian and Azerbaijani languages, and distribute the calendar to both schools. With an essay competition, we will pair writing with the photos. The full essays will form part of a discussion conference on diversity of people and the environment.

Sustainability:

The sustainability of the project is ensured by the friendship memorandum signed between the schools, the obtained knowledge on the eco-issues and the friendship established during the project. With the aim of prolonging the friendship further the laptops will stay – one with Lagodekhi #1 public school pupils, and the second with Kabali #1 public school pupils. The binding equipment will be put in Lagodekhi #1 public school and if needed, Kabali #1 public school will use it as well. In the future we plan to make stories on the topics of the winner photos (one story on each photo), which we will also bind and spread in the above-mentioned schools.

Equal gender opportunity:

Girls as well as boys from both schools will be the members of the eco-club and will make friends with each other.
