Despite of fact that we live in 21st century, there are many teenagers in Georgia who lack information about their rights or responsibilities in their families, school or society. Those are smart children, who have potential to do something meaningful rather than just following teachers’ instructions. They are capable of thinking and coming up with great ideas, but they need little push. If students are provided with information and got assistance to develop certain skills they will start taking actions.
For six months, 12 students from Talaveri #1 public school will take part in a children's’ rights training. Then, after the training is over, they will travel to Kashuri #1 public school and present to students there. Students from Talaveri will also have chance to visit Kashuri. After this, the students from both schools will do a follow-up project together.
This partnership is chosen because one of the schools is Georgian and the other Azeri. We also hope to forge friendships and reduce stereotypes between the groups.
The project will have follow up activities organized by participants. They will become peer educators in their community as they will plan and organize small projects promoting children's’ rights among male as well as female population of their community.
Equal gender opportunity:
In current situation direct beneficiaries are 14 pupils - 7 Georgians (3 girls and 4 boys) and 6 Azerbaijanis (4 boys and 2 girls).
