Goals

Problem statement:

Giorgi Shatberashvili street (former Kobuleti Rise) has small streets attached to it: Shatberashvili I lane, II lane, I alley and II alley.

These small streets are densely populated. Mostly private houses are situated here, and several families live in each of them. These houses, in most cases, have no numbers indicated. Throughout the entire Shatberashvili street, numbers are indicated only in a few places and there are no signs showing where an alley or lane starts, or what the house is numbered.

Some people have written their house number on by hand, but a stranger would still be uncertain whether a particular house is a lane, alley or the main street of Shatberashvili. Also, other streets cross this small street, including Burkiashvili street, which makes the situation more complicated and absolutely impossible to find a desired address.

This problem wouldn’t be so important, but for one fact: ambulances often fail find their destination or spend a long time locating the addresses when time is critical. Taxis and guest constantly struggle to find the correct address.

It is very important for the welfare of the local people that every house should have the number sign and there should be the name of the street, lane and alley and number indicated on every street.

Proposed Solution:

After the necessary equipment and materials are acquired, I personally will make wooden signs indicating the exact addresses (street and number) and install them in Shatberashvili II lanes and Burkiashvili street. At the beginning of Shatberashvili I lane, I and II alleys, I will install signs indicating alleys and lanes. Together with the residents I will install each sign in its place. The signs will be nice and good-quality, and will serve their purpose for a long time.

This activity will be useful for the residents of the above-mentioned street, as they will be able to be
reached by ambulance, post and taxi services without delay. Moreover, it will be comfortable for visitors and passers-by, who will know exactly where each alley, lane, street and number is located.

Sustainability:

The main project will be making the signs for all the houses of Shatberashvili second lane and Burkiahsvili street, and alleys and the second lane. This will be carried out in three months. During this period, I will use the material requested for this project.

However, making the signs won’t end the project. Because the signs will be produced from wood, it will be solid, good-quality, sustainable, and will last for several years without being replaced. But in case of damage, I will make a new sign or I will repair the old one and hang it in the same place. Also, I will gradually make new signs and hang them in Shatberashvili I lane and I and II alleys. In this case the material will be my own, or if desired, acquired with the residents’ funds.
