If you have been in Tetritskaro municipality at least once you would definitely hear the local people express their sadness that people have little and unfortunately inaccurate knowledge about our municipality. Often they imagine Tetritskaro to be as one of the municipalities of Kakheti. It is unfortunate that nowadays quite despite the big flow of the tourists in our municipality (of course in certain locations - Birtvisi, Samshvilde, Algeti National Park, Pitareti and Gudarekhi Monastery complex, Kldekari, etc.) often it remains unknown for tourists in which municipality they have visited. Also it is also a problem that there is no local production, even in the form of souvenirs, which in its turn is one of good ways to spread knowledge and promote the place.
Our idea is to use the locations in our municipality that are unknown to many but have interesting name, for example Squirrel Park, Bear Forest, Wolf Door, etc. and their frequent expression with hashtags for instance #Squirrelpark #IamgoingtoTetritskaro will cause great public interest towards our municipality. Of course only interesting names can’t bring the desired results. So our team has thought about making interesting and nice attractions in these places. We want to put color squirrel houses in the Squirrel Park of Tetritskaro municipality. This, apart from making the park infrastructure beautiful, will also make the process of making observations on squirrels easier. It will attract many visitors especially children. Walking in the park, apart from health improvement, will also be educational. We are also thinking of making and putting direction signs in the town and other interesting locations (in agreement with local self-government, Road Department and Tourism National Administration - 10 locations will be selected at the first stage). It is important that we have cooperation experience with the relevant institutions. In order to implement the idea we need wood processing equipment, paints and small tools, by means of which the team will voluntarily make all the products. Also voluntarily we will place them on the locations and by actively using Facebook page we will cover each activity and promote the selected locations.
It must be considered that we have members in the group who have experience in working on wood. One man aged about 45 is experienced in this field and will be able to share his knowledge with the youth interested in this job. We have a professional iconographer in the team who will take part in the artistic processing of wood surface and making different patterns. It is important that the project is not one-time and the items purchased in case of getting the funding will stay in the Tetritskaro youth center, which will ensure the sustainability of this activity. This will be the first step to found a social enterprise on the basis of the center, where various products will be made from environmentally clean material, particularly from wood - souvenirs, toys, etc. Different activities will be held, such as painting competition for children with disabilities, who will make the compositions on small-sized wood boards from which we will make puzzles and offer them to the kindergartens operating in the municipality.
One of the most important issues envisaged by this project, is equal opportunities and accessibility. The initiative group consists of boys as well as girls. We also have adult members, representatives of ethnic minorities, IDP-s and members with eco-migrant status. Persons with disabilities will also be involved on various stages of implementation. The project will equally benefit them.
