Goals
Problem statement:
There are many vulnerable people in Chokhatauri Municipality. Many are not registered in the database of socially vulnerable people.
These people live in poor economic conditions and cannot afford to eat enough healthy food. Malnutrition causes many deceases to occur.
Many students walk several kilometers to school, where they spend most of their time. Their parents can't always afford to give them food or enough money to buy snacks in school's s canteen. As we know the Municipality has a lack of social programs to provide nutritious meals for all the vulnerable people.
Proposed Solution:
We want to install a social/communal fridge at St Mary Parish School, in Chokhatauri Municipality. The fridge will function as other similar public fridges which were stationed elsewhere and will have a charitable purpose. Anyone can contribute and anyone can take away food. The school children will be assigned to take care of it.
People should remember that people we should stand together and support each member of the community, especially when it comes about taking care of children. Students will become more emphatic and the community will have a chance to demonstrate solidarity.
Sustainability:
School children and the school administration will check the refrigerator daily and arrange to clean it.
Students will make a presentation about the fridge in other public schools or private institutions, and collect food to fill the fridge up initially.
Products will be selected in consultation with Chokhatauri Municipality, A.I. P, Public Health Care Center. The center will also provide frequent monitoring.
The Chokhatauri Municipality will cover the electricity expenses.
Equal gender opportunity:
Anyone in need can access these fridges, and everyone is welcome to contribute to maintaining them.
