Goals
Problem statement:
I would like to create a square in my town, particularly, in one district, to make a leisure and recreational place for children and adults, that would allow more communication and social integration.
This issue is very problematic and concerns every young person here. A small square will enable young people to get closer, make them more sociable, friendly and joyful.
Eventually the problem that troubles everyone will be solved: the children have no resources to do the reading, so their attention is directed to other, less useful issues. It would be good if “Book Nests” will be put on the square, where young people will be able to take and leave books.
It is desirable to create a comfortable space where the youth will be able to read and share their impressions with each other.
Proposed Solution:
First, in cooperation with the Municipality Government, we will allocate a building and a yard for to store internal as well as external inventory. We will also choose a place for the literary square.
The Municipal Government's cultural department gladly agreed to allocate space and a territory of any size in the yard for the project, which means that all the items and books will be under the supervision of security service of Culture House. This also means that the space is repaired, so it does not require renovation materials (e.g. paints).
Also, the director of the National Library of Georgia, Giorgi Kekelidze expressed his wish to contribute books and set up a little free library, “Book Nest,” to the Literary Square. Together with volunteers, we will do the cleaning and also raise funds to purchase the necessary inventory (books, chairs, tables, paints, puffs, swings, hammocks, etc.). The obtained inventory will be in the yard in summer and kept in a special storage room that is in the building in winter and bad weather.
As for the “Book Nest” – it is possible to arrange it and put it in the square with the help of the volunteers.
This initiative will allow over 40 children and youth living in the area to read more books, rest have fun safely, make new friends, become more sociable, and finally, have a happy, colorful childhood that many of us lacked.
Sustainability:
As a result of carrying out the project over 40 young people living in Sagarejo region will be given an opportunity to receive and share their education, enrich their intellect and become more knowledgeable, sociable, and friendly.
If the project is implemented, this particular problem will be completely eradicated. We will give the obtained items to a group of youngsters who wish to carry out the project and are responsible for the safety of the square.
Equal gender opportunity:
We encourage both boys and girls to take advantage of our Book Nest.
