Goals

Problem statement:

The people of the village Mukuzani in Gurjaani region, especially young people, do not get the opportunity to use their free time fruitfully.

They lack educational, cultural and entertainment events. Their lifestyle is uniform, and the opportunity of self-actualization is insufficient. Their entertainment consists of low quality television shows and computer games, which eventually leads to a greater problem. In order to solve it, implementation of socio-cultural projects is required, which will contribute to raising social awareness and increasing interest towards the arts.

We are initiative group of young people who hold movie screenings in Gurjaani with the help of Gurjaani Municipality and Nato Vachnadze House Museum. Now, we want to make movie screenings available to Mukuzani.

Proposed Solution:

Our aim is to change the current social situation of the village, and for that purpose we want to create a space where different events will be held: movie screenings, discussions, intellectual games, creative and poetry evenings.

We have chosen the building of former culture house in the village center, with the agreement of the owner. We also have chairs, a screen, and a computer, but we need a projector.

We conducted a survey and found out that 90% of the people will be glad to see this project carried out. Local youth, with the equal number of girls and boys will be involved in these activities. The Mukuzani government, the local school and the civic education club “Energizer” support this idea.

Sustainability:

Implementation of this idea will increase interest towards cultural events. Young people can show their abilities and diversify their lifestyle. We plan to make movie screenings and cultural activities regular.

We, the organizers of the project, will take care of the requested items. The items will be saved in the building where movie screenings will be held.
