The people living in Gomi municipality find it hard to protect domestic animals from illnesses. The main source of income for the people is livestock farming, but it’s expensive to visit veterinary clinics or private vets. Thus, they care for their livestock on their own.
With funding, I will volunteer my veterinary services for six months. I will spread my contact details around the region and when called, I will serve the people of Kaspi region, the village of Gomi and the villages in its municipality for no charge.
After announcing my services, I will provide free veterinary consultations to anyone who asks. If needed, I will plan surgical interference. The beneficiaries of this activity will mainly be small-scale farmers who operate small family farms.
The materials I use will be the acquired surgery tools. I will also need a laptop as a communication tool, in order to look for donors and communicate with them, to search for medical information and look up news, and to provide the population with the information about the illnesses and to give presentations if needed.
Also the residents of the village who have no access to computer technologies and the internet, they will be given the opportunity to use the laptop.
I think the project will prove to be successful. Six months after getting funding, I will continue working on my own and the items will be in my possession. These will continued to be available to the farmers.
Equal gender opportunity:
The idea will certainly benefit both to men and women, as entire households are engaged with farming and all need veterinary services.
As for access to computer, young people need access to internet more than old, and it will be equally available to boys and girls. I cannot certainly guarantee that both sex will equally benefit, but it will be open to both boys and girls and there will not be any limitations.
