This initiative aims to assist children and teenagers with disabilities, to involve the society by expressing the interest towards them and to support the integration of the children with special needs.
The society does not have the complete knowledge and empathy towards the needs of these people, so the campaign: "A Book for Every Child" will enable us to unite people around this problem, to make the children with special needs more “close” and “familiar."
The campaign will record audio books for children with visual impairments and to involve a big part of the society (students, lecturers, teachers, pupils, famous people) in this process, which will enable us, by individual experience, to make those in different social circles to realize the problems of the children with disabilities.
It is important that these children and teenagers themselves will take part in the process, and they will choose the literature interesting for them, and will also personally take part in recording the books
The participants of the campaign will record (with the pre-agreement with LEPL 202 public school) the desired literature for disabled children using the voices of students, sportsmen, and famous people if possible, and then will copy them on discs and give them out to this school and other involved NGOs.
The children and teenagers with disabilities will be given motivation to listen to the books selected and voiced (dubbed) by them. These books will be free of charge and anyone who wants them will be able to download them by means of Facebook. The items (dictaphones and discs) will remain in our possession, so that we can record the books after the project is over.
Equal gender opportunity:
We hope that young people, boys and girls, will use these books. We will choose books appealing to both genders. We will also involve adult men and women in producing the books.
