Goals

Problem statement:

I am Maka Vardanashvili. I graduated from Gori State Educational University in the field of English Language philology and currently I am a private tutor. I teach English to pre-school, school pupils and university entrants, in the village of Akhalubani, Gori region (in my house).

Unfortunately, I have a shortage of books and listening equipment, and with the materials obtained within the scope of the project I will be able to provide free English courses to 10 pre-school and school pupils living in the villages of Akhalubani, Adzvi, Jariani for three months. I think my help will be beneficial for these pupils and the budgets of their families.

Proposed Solution:

Books, laptop and listening equipment will help pupils to learn English better. Dictionaries will help them work on texts independently (English-Georgian, Georgian-English, English-English dictionaries, Oxford dictionary.)

Laptops and listening with speakers will improve their pronunciation and also help them improve their accents. Digital photo cameras, among other different visual means, and pictures will help pre-school pupils learn English with pleasure. With the digital photo camera we will shoot small performances, dialogues, and skits performed in English.

We will paste up the photo of the best pupil of the week on a “tree of diligence”, which will increase studying motivation of the pupils of primary and secondary ages (levels). The pupils living in the above-mentioned villages will benefit from this initiative.

Sustainability:

This initiative will prove to be necessary and will ensure its sustainability because from my practical experience I can say that the pupils have a great interest in learning English. These items will stay in my possession, because I will always use them in for future classes too, and the pupils will be able to benefit from these items any time.

This will provide equal opportunities for both boys and girls without any limitations. They can use the equipment equally.
