Goals

Problem statement:

The day care center Sapovnela serves children from vulnerable families aged 6-18 years. The center provides classes and informal activities.

These children are at risk because their parents are not reliable. They need both stable mentors as well as education.to stay integrated and successful in society.

The aim of our day care center, together with providing food and informal education, is the psycho-social rehabilitation of children and their families. Right now, this is impossible due to lack of voucher budget.

Proposed Solution:

One of our aims is to open an enamel workshop. We have an art teacher at day care center, Nana Sabashvili, who owns a craft shop with her daughter. Several of our members are interested in leanring the craft from her.

We have a room for the workshop. Our aim is that our students, with supervision of Nana Sabashvili, will be able to improve and share their knowledge to other beneficiaries, their siblings and their parents.

Sustainability:

Hereafter we have wish that our workshop will serve their classmates or any citizen of Rustavi, who wants to study the craft and enjoy it. It is possible that the profession may become the source of their future employment.

At the same time we believe that working together with the family members will be therapeutic for our children and to strengthen the relationships.

To achieve these goals at first we will need the following materials, which can be purchased in Tbilisi, at the railway station.

Equal gender opportunity:

Right now, this project is targeted at women, as they have expressed the most interest. However, we hope that the workshop will grow and that boys and men will also be more actively involved.
